Becoming a Member

If you are interested in joining our church, at the close of every service we have an invitation time in which our Pastor will invite anyone who wishes to come to him and make commitments to Jesus. You can come at that time and express your desire to become a member, or to accept Jesus as your personal Savior. This is a serious and important time of invitation and commitment.

FIRST BAPTIST RECEIVES MEMBERS IN THREE WAYS:

1. By profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, followed by baptism.  (Please see "Our Beliefs" as outlined in the "Baptist Faith and Message," for a clear explanation of what we believe about salvation and baptism.)

2. By transfer of letter from a sister Southern Baptist church. (Churches within the Southern Baptist Convention hold to the same requirements of a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and of baptism being by immersion as a symbolic act after salvation.)

3. By a personal statement that the you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and have been previously baptized by immersion by a church of like faith, doctrine, and order.
